JavaScript Engineer (Angular)

Job description

Are you excited about building a product that helps engineers ship better code?

Airbrake is used by thousands of engineering teams all over the world. We help Developers, PMs and QA find and organize bugs so they can identify and fix problems quickly.

We care deeply about our users, the Airbrake service, and especially our team. Backed by a great vision, we strive to make Airbrake a place where each of us is empowered to learn, grow and produce our best work. We’re growing fast, and looking to add top-notch developers to the team.

Our team works remotely, and we look for the very best people, regardless of location. You can work where you live (or travel, or wherever), but of course we like to get everyone together in-person a couple times a year to build relationships and have some fun.

We are looking for an experienced and highly capable JavaScript engineer to accelerate the preparation and migration of our AngularJS 1.6 TypeScript application to Angular.

This is a remote, 6 month, full-time contract with the opportunity to grow into a long-term position. Our headquarters is in San Francisco but most of the team you will be working with are based in Europe. You can be located anywhere but your working hours must overlap with Europe and/or US daytime.

Requirements

Who are we looking for?

  • You are an experienced JavaScript developer with expertise in AngularJS, Angular, TypeScript and modern tooling
  • You have practical experience of refactoring and modernising JavaScript applications

  • You have the desire and ability to teach others and help raise the application quality as a team
  • You are adaptable, independent and deliver quality work in a timely fashion
  • You are a trustworthy team-player
  • You are driven to make great things happen!

What will you do?

Airbrake's main user-facing dashboard is an AngularJS 1.6 TypeScript application. We are preparing this codebase for Angular and have made good progress. In order to keep up this progress while we continue to develop our product, we need you to play a key role in driving this modernisation forwards.

  • Integrate with the existing remote development team

  • Work with the existing remote team to execute the modernisation
